Peter Boczar


Peter Boczar is the founding partner of Peter Michael Kai Ltd.  He brings extensive experience developing brand and advertising strategies for some of the world’s leading trademarks.

He started his marketing career with Leo Burnett advertising as a management associate on the Kellogg’s cereal and dairy business. He then worked with a broad range of clients and products including Philip Morris, McDonald’s, Seven Up , Kraft/General Foods, Bacardi and Cellular One telecom.

During his most recent role as the international advertising director for Philip Morris, he led the worldwide strategic and creative evolution of Marlboro, one of the world’s biggest brands, as well as the introduction of new global and local brands in Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

Additionally, he led the strategic and creative direction of the worldwide Formula I racing sponsorship in support of McLaren and Ferrari, two of the word's leading motor sports teams, featuring championship drivers Aryton Senna and Michael Schumacher. He also managed the extension of the trademark into the Marlboro Classics fashion brand.

Notably, he is valued for his experience nurturing, evaluating and evolving some of the world’s best known brand icons, be they characters on a cereal box, off a soft drink can or the “advertising icon” of the millennium – the Marlboro Man.

His personal interests include sailing, hiking and the outdoors. In 1998 he was awarded an Expedition Flag by an American explorers’ association, for leading a mission to the South American jungle in search of missing World War II aircraft.

He holds a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

He has also studied Mandarin, Cantonese, French, German and Spanish.
